Andrew Davis, the recipient of a $2,000 LeRoy Maas Wrestling Scholarship in the year 2001, was recently named to the dean's list for the spring 2002 semester at Crown College in St. Bonifacius, Minnesota. Davis, a 2001 graduate of Albert Lea High School, will be a sophomore at Crown in the fall and is majoring in youth/social science. He is a member of the football team. He is he son of Rod and Pam Davis.

Crown College is a four year college offering more than 30 major and minor programs of study in fields of education, business, history, psychology, English, and several areas of ministry. The college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of The North Central Association of Colleges.
The first scholarship was awarded in 1996. It was given to Aron Attig. Aron enrolled at South Dakota State University. After a time, he decided he wanted to major in agriculture related work.

Aron gave up his scholarship, came back to Albert Lea, and decided he wanted to become an electrician. He enrolled at and attended Riverland Community College and he is now working for the Klocek Electric Company in Albert Lea. Aron is doing very well in his chosen profession.

This first scholarship was then given to twin brothers, Josh and Tad Hinnenkamp.

Both boys attended St. Olaf College. Josh is majoring in English and History, while Tad is majoring in History with a concentration on the Middle East. Josh has made several trips to the Middle East.

Both boys are working at the present time to earn money so they can finish their education. With only a few credits left to take, they will probably finish their degreees during the next quarter.

Eric Attig, the 1999 winner, decided to attend Winona State University, where he is majoring in Physical Education and Coaching. He was a varsity wrestler, and captain of the football team while he attended Albert Lea High School. Presently, he is a junior at Winona State and he is doing very well in his studies.

Jens Levison, a scholarship winner in the year 2000, is a sophomore at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. He is majoring in Education. Jens is a member of the wrestling team and the football team at Luther. Both teams have outstanding records in their leagues. Jens has been a vital part of their success.
